Ethereal but not subtle

Having given up on expensive candles (nothing worse than paying a fortune, lighting it up, and not smelling a thing) I have been slowly going through the D&W Home candle inventory :).

I have always leaned towards woody and spicy candles, but being the middle of summer I've found myself ordering more fruity and floral selections.

Never was a rose girl until Peonies.

The cold throw has you sniffing a huge bouquet of fresh pink peonies straight out of a florist's cooler.

Once lit the rose starts to warm it up and then comes the freesia which opens it up as well as lending just a subtle touch of candy sweetness.

If anything the marigold is used to anchor the diaphanous quality of both (pink) rose and peony.

What's amazing is this candle's throw and it's ability to travel effortlessly throughout the rooms of my apartment while retaining a definite presence.

It's especially gorgeous in air conditioning, and the bright pop of magenta stands out in a room of grey and white.

Ordered the Rose and White Rose and waiting to try those out.
